INTRODUCTION
FEATURES
RonsCALL is a fast and powerful tool for creating an attractive and
colorful welcomescreen (or bulletin) with todays callers.
RonsCALL offers many advanced features:
■ Full color screen display of progress.
■ WILDCAT! Multi-node support.
■ SPEED! -- All information about the last caller is derived
from DOOR.SYS, no need to scan the entire ACTIVITY log.
■ Runtime parameters are passed on the command line and all
information needed about the System is taken from WILDCAT!'s
Configuration Files.
■ Include/exclude local logons in the display.
■ Include/exclude Sysop logons in the display.
■ Exclude specific Profiles from the display.
■ Exclude specific Users from the display.
■ Exclude specific Nodes from the display.
■ Quiet mode for even more speed.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
RonsCALL does not have any special hardware requirements beyond
what is needed to setup and run your BBS software. To run RonsCALL
you need the WILDCAT! v3.0 type of BBS software.
LICENSING
The RonsCALL program and its accompanying documentation have been
released as shareware. This gives you the chance to evaluate the
performance of the software for a 30 day period. If you continue
to use this product beyond this period, you are expected to
register and pay for the program. You may not use RonsCALL in a
business or institutional environment without registering it, and
each registered copy of RonsCALL is licensed for use at a SINGLE
site only.
WARRENTY
The author specifically disclaims all warrenties, expressed or
implied, including but not limited to implied warrenties of
merchantability and fitness for a paticular purpose and the program
license granted herein in particular, and without limiting
operation of the program license with respect to any particular
application, use, or purpose. In no event shall the author be
liable for any loss of profit, lost savings, commercial damage, or

other incidental or concequential damages arising out of the use or
inability to use RonsCALL even if the author, Ron van Rossum, or an
authorized distributor of the product has been advised of the

The author offers limited support to unregistered users of
RonsCALL. If you have a problem installing or using the software,
and you have read this entire User's Manual (please do read the
manual before requesting help), then feel free to request help
through either of the channels mentioned above. I will make an
attampt to answer all mail received, but please be aware that
registered users have first priority for support.

GETTING STARTED
FILES INCLUDED
The RonsCALL installation kit is distributed in a single compressed
library file, containing the following files:
RONSCALL.EXE The executable file.
RONSCALL.NOT Optional File containing the profiles/Usernames
and/or Node-id's to exclude from the Display.
RONSCALL.KEY REGISTERED VERSIONS ONLY, removes the 10 second
delay at the end, and reveals two more
commandline switches.
RONSCALL.DOC This documentation file.
POSTCALL.BAT Sample batch file for running RonsCALL.
RUNTIME FILES
| RonsCALL maintains a small sized database in the same directory as
| where the User Database is kept, to record callers information:
RONSCALL.DAT Todays callers database, the size of this file
grows to the maximum size of 12 + (#calls-per-
day * 77).
INSTALLATION
The installation steps are simple;
■ Copy RONSCALL.EXE to any directory in your DOS path.
■ Copy RONSCALL.KEY (REGISTERED VERSIONS ONLY!) to your WILDCAT!
Home directory.
■ Copy POSTCALL.BAT to your WILDCAT! Home directory.
■ Optionaly copy RONSCALL.NOT to your WILDCAT! Home directory
(This File needs editing, see the example for details).
WILDCAT!'s Home Directory is the one containing MAKEWILD.DAT.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
RonsCALL fully supports WILDCAT!'s environment variables, but in
addition it recognises the variable RONSKEY.
If you, for example, put your RONSCALL.KEY in the directory
"C:\REGKEYS", you need to tell RonsCALL so by including the
following statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT:

CALL PROCESSING EVENT
RonsCALL should be run after each and every call. WILDCAT!
automaticly executes its Call Processing Event if the File
POSTCALL.RUN exists in a NODE WORK directory or the file
POSTCALL.BAT exists in the WILDCAT! HOME directory. For more
information see your SYSOP Guide, chapter 7 - Features in depth.
COMMAND LINE OPTIONS
RONSCALL display [/B|/D] [-C:nnnn] [-K] [-L] [-P] [-Q] [-R] [-S]
? This will cause RonsCALL to display a help screen showing
the different command line options.
display This is the base-name of the outputfile to write. The
suffix .BBS is added automaticly. The name should be
a valid DOS name.
/B This will tell RonsCALL to write the display file in
WILDCAT!'s [B]ulletin directory. This switch cannot
exist together with the following switch:
/D This will tell RonsCALL to write the display file in
WILDCAT!'s [D]isplay directory. This is the programs
default if no /B or /D is included.
-C:nnnn This tells RonsCALL which [C]onference to use in
determining the Display- or Bulletin Path. The default
conference is 0 (zero). (REGISTERED VERSIONS ONLY!)
-K This makes RonsCALL [K]ill DOOR.SYS after processing.
-L This is used to include [L]ocal logins to the list of
callers. Local logons are by default NOT included.
-P This makes RonsCALL [P]ost "DROPPED CARRIER" in place of
the Users from-part in case of Users dropping carrier.
-Q This tells RonsCALL to run in [Q]uit mode. Only a little
propeller is showing program activity. (REGISTERED
VERSIONS ONLY!)
-R This is used to [R]estrict the display file to callers to
the current node.
-S This tells RonsCALL to include calls of the person who's
name is listed as SYSOP in MAKEWILD in the display.
SYSOP logons are by default not included.
